PERSONAL DATA: Born December 29, 1971 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
EDUCATION: Graduated from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík 1991, earned his Private Pilot License in 1990 and Commercial Pilot License with a Flight Instructor, Instrument and Multi Engine Piston ratings. Attended a Short Course on Aircraft Accident Investigation at Cranfield University in 2000. Earned a Type Rating Instructor rating in 2006 and Type Rating Examiner Authorization on the Boeing B757/767 in 2007.
ORGANIZATIONS: Member of the Icelandic ALPA Safety Committee since 2008 and Chairman of the Safety Committe since 2010.
EXPERIENCE: Started Air Traffic Control Officer Training in 1994, but diverted to flight training with Icelandair (http://www.icelandair.com/) on the Fokker 50 in 1995 as a First Officer. Moved on to B757 in 1997 but went back on the Fokker 50 in 1999 as a Commander. From 2002-2004 VP Flight Operations for Air Atlanta Icelandic (http://www.airatlanta.com/), and Training Manager for Icelandair from 2004-2007. Type Rating Instructor and Examiner on the Boeing 757/767 since 2007. Total flying hours 6.300 including 3.800 hrs in command.
KEILIR AVIATION ACADEMY: Joined Keilir in 2007 and founded the Aviation Academy. Now holding the position of Head of Training and Director of Operations. Also serving as an instructor.
