The Keilir Aviation Academy, Keflavik, Iceland become suddenly very well known in the aviation industry by organizing the most important conference
on Eyjafjallajökull and Aviation in September 15-16, 2010.
But why did the Keilir Aviation Academy organize such an important conference? “As an Icelandic pilot school we wanted to invite aviation leaders, experts and policy-makers from all over the world to assemble in Iceland to discuss the lessons learned from the Eyjafjallajökull eruption and how technology, rules, regulations and aviation training must be improved before the next volcano eruption,” said Jon Magnusson, the Conference Manager. “The conference was called to address the many facets of this multi-disciplinary subject that has been identified as the worst disruption by far of European and global air transport since the Second World War”, Jon added.
