Keilir Health Academy in the field of health, soundness, sports and pedagogy

The IAK Personal Training program was established 2006. Over 300 IAK Personal trainers have graduated from Keilir in Iceland and with a country of only 310.000 inhabitants it's amazing that still numbers of applicants is rising. For autumn 2011 over 250 applied to participate in the program and 90 spots were available.

IAK Personal Trainers graduate with very good skills on training and are very populair trainers. But many who study the IAK PT program don't plan to train. They are just very interested in health and training and want to learn this for them selves and their closest friends and family.

The IAK Personal Training is a two-semester-program and is recognized by the Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. It gives 60 fein credits on secondary level and is designed to create excellent personal trainers with extended knowledge on individual's health and on creating individualized exercise program in the field of strength and stamina training.

During the creation of the program, studies were made on the working personal trainers in Iceland and analysis on the market needs in the sector. The results were intergrated in the IAK Personal Training Program to meet the needs of the market.

The IAK Personal Training Program is made to meet the needs of great range of groups and is targeting; individuals who want to become personal trainers, personal trainers who want to extend their knowledge, the general public who wants to extend their knowledge in the field of training and nutrition, and physical educators who want to extend their education in the field of training, injury prevention and rehabilitation after injuries.
