Facilities & Laboratories

The research laboratories in applied energy engineering are located in the same building as the school and are used for teaching, training, research and development. The purpose of the research laboratories is to facilitate communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing between the energy industry and the academia, e.g. the School of Energy and Technology and the University of Iceland.

The aim is to establish domestic and international collaborations with universities and companies and have space to accomodate visiting students and scientists. Start–up companies within the technology park will be able to make use of the research laboratories which consist of five labs:

  1. Chemical Engineering Laboratory
  2. Fabrication Laboratory 
  3. Material Engineering Laboratory
  4. Mechatronics Laboratory
  5. Thermal– & Fluid Engineering Laboratory
