Keilir consists of four different schools, Health Academy, School of Energy and Technology and Aviation Academy besides a Preliminary Department where the main objective is to prepare students for further studies at university level

Flight with Cpt. Eric Moody over Eyjafjallajökull volcano on 14 September. Capt. Moody is the BA captain who flew into a cloud of volcanic ash over Jakarta in 1982. He was able to glide far enough to exit the ash cloud and restart the engines.
